Apple today released Boot Camp 5.1.x, the newest version of its Windows support software that allows you to run Windows on an Intel Mac. Boot Camp 5 includes full support for 64-bit drivers for both Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Before today’s update, you could install 64-bit versions of the Windows OS using the older version of Boot Camp, but some of the hardware drivers that Apple supplied (mouse, trackpad, USB 3, Thunderbolt, graphics, etc.) were not 64-bit native. The new version brings full 64-bit support for Window systems.
