It seems Apple can’t make enough of the newest Mac Pros to meet demand. It has once again slipped shipping estimates to 5 to 6 weeks on new orders. Previously, Apple said that Mac Pros would be in customers’ hands by April. But with April already here, it’s obvious that Apple is having difficulties with fulfillment.

The 2013 model of the Mac Pro is radically different from its predecessor, offering some pretty amazing performance in a container that’s only 6-1/2 inches in diameter by 9-2/3 inches high. That’s a compact package to hold up to a 12-core processor and dual graphics cards. Throw a completely new fabrication and assembly facility in Austin, Texas into the mix, and it’s easy to see that there are many points where manufacturing can run into early production issues.
