Pages, a word processor that was once part of Apple’s iWork productivity suite for the Mac, is now available as an independent app. Its suite cohorts, Numbers and Keynote, are also now available as independent apps.

Recently updated to version 5.2, Pages offers a number of new capabilities, including a view-only setting that allows you to share documents that others can view but not edit; preservation of inline images when importing documents; and a better media browser. Pages is one of the best lightweight word processors that can still produce fantastic-looking documents.
