Every once in a while, we hear reports of computer components giving off an unusual odor that for some users can be nauseating, or cause headaches or other unpleasant symptoms.

Just last June, Dell recalled the palm rests built into Dell Latitude laptopsbecause the plastic in the palm rests produced an unpleasant smell.

More recently, some Mac users have mentioned that their new aluminum keyboards, either the Apple Wireless Keyboard or the Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad, were producing unacceptable smells, often described as similar to the smell of harsh chemical cleaners.
