Last summer, Apple and IBM joined forces in a partnership designed to combine Apple’s strength in mobile devices with IBM’s expertise in meeting the needs of enterprise customers. The venture, called IBM MobileFirst, was to kick off with IBM developing 100 new business apps for iPhones and iPad devices.

Today, IBM announced the availability of the first 10 apps in the 100-app library of business software.

The first offerings target specific market segments, including:

  • Travel and Transportation
  • Banking and Financial Markets
  • Insurance
  • Government
  • Retail
  • Telecommunications
