Every year, it seems, a new Apple television rumor pops up. Most of them revolve around Apple directly entering the television business, offering TVs in various sizes and capabilities. But so far, these TV-based rumors have always failed to pan out. When we reported on them at all, we always mentioned that we weren’t holding our breath. But this year may just be different, because this time, the rumors make more sense.

The rumor this year is that Apple will start a streaming television service made up of broadcast networks, such as ABC, CBS, FOX, Disney, and many other TV content providers. As reported by the Wall Street Journal (subscription required), at the launch of the service, Apple would offer up to 25 channels for somewhere between $30 and $40 per month.
